Michael BarnesCharleston Branch Manager

Michael is an experienced banking leader with more than 20 years of experience in retail banking, talent acquisition, leadership development, and insurance services. He holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Maryland and an MBA from Charleston Southern University.

His career includes roles in human resources recruiting, retail banking management, leadership consulting across eight states, and directing banking and insurance referral programs across 26 regions. He also earned the Mastering Leadership Dynamics certification through the Leadership Institute.

Michael serves in leadership at his local church and on the board of the African Missions Association. He has also served as an adjunct professor and MBA mentor at the College of Charleston, a Habitat for Humanity Charleston Selection Committee member, and a supporter of small business and entrepreneurship initiatives throughout South Carolina.
