| How does Enhanced Login Security work?
Enhanced Login Security places a non-invasive cookie on the browser of the computer you register to protect your accounts from illegal access. The cookie contains no identifiable information about you or your accounts. When you log in after you have enrolled in Enhanced Login Security, our banking system verifies your User ID and Password, and also verifies that the cookie is present. This ensures that only pre-registered computers will be able to access your account information with your User ID and Password.
What if I use multiple computers or browsers?
Do I have to register all of them?
If you use multiple computers, you will need to add Enhanced Login Security to each of them. If you use different browsers on the same computer, you will need to log in from each browser and add this feature to each one.
To enroll a second computer or browser, log in to your account from the computer or browser you wish to register. The system will check for the Enhanced Login Security cookie. If the cookie is not found, you will be prompted with the Challenge Questions to confirm that you are the true account owner. Once you have been verified, you will be asked if you want to register the new computer or browser. We recommend that you only register computers that are private, such as your home computer.
What are Challenge Questions?
Challenge Questions are used to identify you if we don't recognize the computer or browser you are using, or if you forget your password and want to "Reset It Yourself". You can change the questions and answers at any time by going to the "User Options" page and clicking on "Challenge Question Setup."
How does Enhanced Login Security benefit me?
This added layer of security protects your account from unauthorized access. The next time you log in after successfully enrolling your computer, the Enhanced Login Security feature identifies you as the true "owner" of your account by recognizing not only your password, but your computer as well. If you log in from a public computer or one you haven't used before, we'll ask the challenge questions you selected as an additional line of defense to prevent unauthorized account access.
CoastalStates Bank's Enhanced Login Security will:
- Defend against identity theft and fraud.
- Provide added security from any computer, wherever you are.
- Make it easy for you with one-time sign-up and convenient access.
Remember, Enhanced Login Security will be available December 15, 2006 as additional protection for your CoastalStates Bank account. Please log in to your account and add this new feature to your private computer beginning on December 15, 2006.
