Dear CoastalStates Customer:
It is an unfortunate fact of life that it is necessary to address the security of our lives, our families, homes, businesses and financial affairs. With the devastation our country has suffered over the last few years, we must be prudent. These unfortunate events make us ask questions about our own lives and security. How safe is my family, my home, my business and my financial affairs?
We believe it is always better to be proactive - to predict
in advance what could happen in our area. We believe it is our job to
report to you what systems your bank has in place to mitigate a similar
disaster and to continue to provide you with the highest level of care.
We believe the following points of information could prove helpful to
you:
- Out-Sourcing - CoastalStates Bank out-sources our
Item Processing and all of our Information Technology services
to a large
public company called Fiserv - www.fiserv.com.
Fiserv has multiple Processing centers throughout the country,
virtually eliminating disaster-related processing risk for CoastalStates
Bank.
- Alternate locations - CoastalStates maintains a staffed office in Atlanta, GA, and has access to processing facilities in Newberry, SC, and Jacksonville, FL. If we experienced a natural disaster large enough that we were unable to return to Hilton Head immediately after the event, we would reopen the following day in one of these backup locations.
- Staying in touch - Out toll free number, 1-888-RING
CSB (1-888-746-4272) would be rerouted immediately to our
disaster recovery location in the event of evacuation, so we are
always a phone
call away. Also, our PO Box 4800, Hilton Head Island, SC
29938 would
be rerouted immediately.
- Online Banking - For those customers who enjoy CoastalStates
Online Banking (including My Accounts, BankLink, and BillPay), the
hardware and software that powers these services are also remote and would
not be damaged if our area were hit. If you have not yet signed up for our online banking, one of our banking specialists would be happy to do so today.
- Bank by Phone - If you prefer telephone to the
internet, CoastalStates
TeleBank (1-877-527-2704) allows our customers to call
toll free from anywhere and obtain account specific information.
Again
this service is not housed locally. We would be happy to sign
you up at no charge.
- Re-Opening - CoastalStates Bank has an agreement with Agility Recovery Solutions, www.agilityrecovery.com to provide two mobile offices within 48 hours of a disaster in the event our offices were unusable. These temporary offices would house our entire staff, provide our customers access to our branch services, and are complete with computers and satellite phone connections. We would have the flexibility to re-open anywhere, and would locate these mobile facilities as close to our offices as possible, depending on the assessed damage and access allowed by the authorities.
- Access to funds - CoastalStates allows all customers
to use other ATM's throughout the world at no charge
to you. No matter where you are after a disaster, you will have full
access to your money.
- Borrowing needs -
CoastalStates maintains your financial information in a digitally imaged fashion, allowing us to meet all your credit needs even if we cannot return to the area immediately. We realize that if a natural disaster hit our area many of our customers will need loans – we have the ability and technology to do this for you at remote locations.
We're serious about the protection of your assets. We
have in place a recovery process that will keep your bank at your fingertips
in a time that you could need us most. If you would like to discuss our
Disaster Recovery Program in more detail, please feel free to call at
843-341-9900 or toll free at 888-RING CSB.
